Monday afternoon's planting progress is looking for a number around 26%. The 5 year average is 63% and last year was 53%. If it holds, this would be the fourth slowest planting pace since 1980.

GRAINS -- DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/13 14:21
Upward momentum and a lack of selling interest to counteract it pushed soybean futures contracts past their previous May highs Tuesday and will encourage the idea that a short-term higher trend is forming. Grains posted a lower day.

Beef contracts settled on a mixed basis with live futures mostly lower and feeder issues sharply higher. The pork complex ended mixed in the lean pit and mostly higher in the belly market.
